An Elegant Barn Wedding in the Lehigh Valley

Photos by Alison Conkilin

A & J came to us with a vision of an elegant, timeless wedding at The Petersell 1808 Barn. They wanted to provide their guests with an amazing experience with great food, drinks and overall flow for the day.

Given the nature of their venue, there was a lot of strategic planning that took place before we thought through the overall design. We took an aerial view of the venue and mapped out exactly how the event would flow, making sure to include the placement of the bar, cocktail hour, bathrooms, and of course mapped out an alternative option as a plan b in case there was rain in the forecast.

For the reception space, we brought in a mix of long wooden farm tables and round tables with textured white linens and a subtle design through the napkins. Fleurish Florals brought in stunning floral centerpieces full of baby's breath and deep greens. We kept the design cohesive and grounded by using black flatware, black chairs, and luxe glassware with sleek lines.

A detail often overlooked is the dance floor – we went all out for A & J with a black and white checkered dance floor and a stunning installation of baby's breath by Fleurish to really fill the large vertical space of the barn.

We were able to squeeze in the ceremony in the nick of time before the rain started. We kept the flow of the day moving into the cocktail hour, and right into a fresh delicious meal catered by Simply Smooth Catering where 74 Events kept the guests entertained and dancing the rest of the night!
