What a Wedding Planner doesn't do (& why you still need one)

Wedding planners are often referred to as the maestro of the ballet, they orchestrate the various elements needed to produce a flawless performance for their couples wedding day. Although, despite what many say, we don’t do everything. In this blog post we are going to bust some myths and clarify what the role of a wedding planner actually is, and why you still need one!

What a Wedding Planning Does Not Do: 

• They Don't Make Decisions for You

  We are a guide rather than a decision maker. The couple's vision and desires always remain central, while we bring that vision to life, offer options and make sure nothing is forgotten.

• They Don't Replace High Quality Vendors

  We have a network of trusted vendors from florists to photographers but we can never replace them! Weddings run smoothly when each vendor's role is clearly defined and works within their zone of genius. We collaborate with those other vendors and ensure they understand the couple's overall vision!

• They Don’t Determine your Budget

  One of the largest parts of our role is to help guide our couples in the allocation of their budgets but we do not determine what their overall budget should be! The financial aspect is the first decision couples should make together, and then we are able to craft their vision within that framework. 

• They Aren’t Miracle Workers 

  Although we do work miracles on wedding days (sometimes), there are always circumstances outside of our control. We work hard to avoid those situations for our couples, but things such as weather, global crisis, or personal emergencies are outside of our control. We are always there for our couples to help them navigate these instances (and prepare physically & mentally for them!), but ultimately they are not something we can prevent.
