Wedding Planner, Coordinator, or Designer: Which do you need?
Here at Lavish Haus we provide three main services: wedding planning, wedding coordination and wedding design. Each of these services are unique in their own way, and it is often hard to figure out which fits your needs! In this blog post, we are going to lay out the differences between all three to help you determine which is best for you!
We also provide custom packages for clients who want a touch of everything, schedule a complimentary discovery call with us and let’s chat about your wedding and how we can bring your vision to life!
Wedding Designer
A wedding designer is the architect of your wedding day. They are not planning the wedding, but creating the aesthetic of your day. They develop the overall look and feel of the entire event. This includes designing and integrating colors, monograms, signage, floral direction, table settings, ceremony and reception space.
For our design clients, we create a comprehensive pdf design document that provides the couple and other vendors (florals, bakers, rentals, and caterer) the defined aesthetic. We also help source and coordinate all the items needed to implement the design (think napkins, table numbers, signage etc).
Wedding Planner
A wedding planner focuses on the organization of the wedding day, such as sourcing and hiring all other vendors, communication with those vendors, creating and implementing a wedding day timeline, guest list organization and setting up all the elements provided by the wedding designer.
A wedding planner takes on the bulk of tasks that are the most time consuming when it comes to creating and executing the wedding day. By taking on those tasks, they allow the couple (and their family and friends) to focus on their fiancé during the engagement and wedding day rather than worrying about all the vendors showing up on time or keeping the wedding day moving.
Wedding Coordinator
A wedding coordinator typically only comes in a few weeks before the wedding day to help implement the wedding day timeline. The couple (or wedding planner) provides the coordinator with all the information needed to execute the events taking place on time (such as making sure the bride is in her dress on time, and everyone is lined up before the ceremony). In our opinion having a wedding coordinator is essential for every wedding day. Couples deserve to enjoy their wedding day without having to worry about when they should start walking down the aisle or letting guests know they should take their seats for the reception!
Which one do you need?
If you are unsure what you want your wedding to look or feel like, or you have an idea but unsure how to make it cohesive, a wedding designer is what you need. If you need help organizing information or sourcing wedding vendors, wedding planner is for you. If you just need a go-to best friend for the day, then a wedding coordinator is a must!
