Tablescape Design Tips
It’s that time in the planning process where we get to design your tablescape. Our couples are always eager to start working on this right away. We get it! It’s the most fun and can be a game changer in the overall design of your wedding day. That being said, it can be overwhelming, from choosing a color palette, to what type of floral arrangements to have, to the rentals which include sourcing flatware, glassware, dinner ware, etc. Don’t let the fun part of wedding planning stress you out! Let our team guide you through some basics to consider when planning and designing your tablescapes. Within this blog, we lay out just a couple of things to keep in mind!
Color Palette: Once you establish a color palette, use this as inspiration for your tablescapes. Having your colors picked out from the main colors to accent colors will help as you choose linens, dinner ware, and everything you want to incorporate.
Table Style: One of the most important things for planning a tablescape is style, such as do you want a family style with long tables or a more traditional style with round tables. Even a fun mix of both styles gives a thoughtful approach to your floor plan. What you choose will play a large part in what can fit on your tables! This will overall give your guests a nice and easy flow to move through the reception.
Linens: Linens are a great way to add color or texture to the base of your table design. Whether it’s a simple linen with a little texture or a patterned linen to really wow your guests! We have access to gorgeous options and provide you with samples, visuals, and more.
Chargers, Flatware, & Glassware: Most couples may not know that you can customize your tablescapes all the way down to the flatware. And if you do, you aren’t sure how to source and execute the vision that you are hoping for. You can choose all types of different products to spice up your table design. Leveling up your flatware to add a touch of gold or black enhances the overall palette of the table. Glassware can add color and a fun element for your guests to sip their drink out of while enjoying their delicious meal! Never settle for less than you want on your big day!
Floral Pieces: Before choosing centerpiece flowers, it is important to know the size of the tables. The canvas of a table is always a challenge, but if you plan floral arrangements accordingly, along with adding other details and texture, it can really elevate the design and your guest experience. For smaller tables, consider a low floral arrangement; for large tables, consider a raised floral arrangements that take up more space and carry your eye up and throughout the reception space.
Decor: When choosing decor for your tables, the possibilities are endless. You can choose from minimalist to dramatic and everything in between. Once you decide if you want floral arrangements, you can choose candles, table numbers, name cards, and everything else. It is important to remember the sizing of the table since you do not want to overrun the space with items. Textiles and natural elements can provide a more organic and elevated feeling as your guests sit and mingle!
