A Magical First Birthday Tea Party
Before we knew the gender of our baby, we were getting tons of blue signs from the universe. The morning of our gender reveal, Margo's fairy godmother got an alert from her daily art app. The painting of the day was "Margot in Blue" by Mary Cassatt. A famous female Pennsylvania artist - we later surprised our family that we were expecting a baby girl. Since then, we were gifted a copy of the painting and it has been the centerpiece for her nursery since she was born.
We used this as inspiration for the entire aesthetic of her first birthday party. Including touches of blue and lots of florals to enhance the color palette. The theme was enhanced as our team stacked children’s books, tea cups, and pearls overflowing into the tablescape design.
We brought in thoughtfully personalized tea cups as place cards and each guest had the opportunity to play games based on Margo’s first year earth side. The paper goods had a silhouette of Margo that we were gifted from her aunt!
A designated backdrop that elevated the entire event with custom wallpaper, gift opening and smash cake area. The Wilbur has beautiful natural light that brought in brightness for all guests to enjoy! We layered different textures and patterns through the tablescape design — including the napkins, acrylic, pearls, and gold flatware.
