How to Incorporate Philadelphia into your Wedding

Take a trip down memory lane and remember where you come from! You may want to pay homage to the place where you grew up or where you met and fell in love with your partner during your special day. This is a place that you love or shaped you. While we are using Philadelphia as a specific example, you can customize these ideas to fit a city (or state) that’s dear to you too! When you're all about the place you love, here are a few ways to embody the place that you call home:

Feature a smaller LOVE sculpture on your welcome table or stamped on custom napkins. This iconic work of art represents the City of Brotherly Love. It became one of Philly's most well-known landmarks that stands for openness and inclusion. On your wedding day, you have an open heart and are including your loved ones in a major life event. This sculpture symbolizes everything a wedding is into one.

Try a pretzel bar for your cocktail hour. Philly has strong connections with so many foods- especially pretzels. Serve soft pretzels with BBQ dipping sauce, honey mustard sauce, and a beer & cheese dip. You can change it up to hard pretzels, melted chocolate, and toppings to satisfy your sweet tooth. Offer a variety to suit different tastes. These are just a few of the dips and sauces that can be served!

Explore local vendors. We absolutely love encouraging our couples to support small businesses. Rent a food truck or get catering that has your favorite meal. There are so many local breweries, wineries, and distilleries to stock for you and your guests.

Switch from regular table numbers to table names. Philadelphia is well-known for its cultural, historical, and recreational attractions. Name your tables different landmarks or street names. Landmarks are identifiable with their city. Philly holds the Liberty Bell, Rocky Balboa, and many more. There is a series of original Philly streets based on different tree names- Chestnut, Walnut, Spruce, and more. William Penn, the founder of Pennsylvania, possibly named them based on his love of the state’s bountiful nature. Assign your guests to any series of distinguishable names as a table number.

Create curated gift bags for your guests to take home. This allows your friends and family to learn about the places you and your partner love to go to locally. Grab postcards from a visitor center. Add goodies from your favorite shop. Create a personalized craft to symbolize your favorite place.

The details that you include are what people notice. Those details are what represents you as a couple. It adds meaning to your wedding when you add personal details-like places you fell in love. Reflect on your memories together and allow your guests to experience them with you!
