Pricing and Availability

  • The obvious and most important question: Is my date available? If not, what surrounding dates are available?

  • How many guests are you able to hold and is there a minimum guest count needed? If so, what are the consequences if we do need meet the minimum requirement?

  • How many hours are included for our wedding day?

    • Be sure to ask if your wedding will be the only event taking place on your wedding day. Other events usually limit your set up and break down times.

  • What is included in the total pricing?

  • Does it cover service charges, gratuity, set up and break down fees, or are those additional?

  • What is the cancellation policy?

Logistics

  • How early can we arrive and how late can we stay?

    • This is most important so your vendors have enough time to set up and break down.

  • Do you have on site accommodations for the wedding party and guests?

    • For example, a venue offering a wedding party suite offers you a space that you can get ready in and in turn eliminates wedding party transportation. Ultimately, keeping cost to down.

  • Is your venue handicap accessible for any guests that may need this?

  • Is there on site parking available for guests? If so, is there a fee for guests to park?

  • What is the backup plan for inclement weather?

    • It’s important to be prepared for any circumstances out of your control.

Food and Beverage

  • Do you have an in-house caterer? If so, is there a food and beverage minimum?

  • What is included in your wedding packages?

    • An all-inclusive venue that provides you with catering, bar service, rentals, linens, tables, chairs, etc. will be less costly and offering less logistics to deal with for your wedding day.

Vendor Recommendations

  • Do you have vendor recommendations that you work with that we can reach out to?

  • Do we have to use your approved vendor recommendations?

    • A vendor who is familiar with your venue will already know how a wedding there runs and is prepared for challenges. These vendors can offer recommendations to eliminate unforeseen hiccups which makes the process easier on everyone.

It’s SO important to really learn how your potential venue will work on your wedding day and to be mindful of the costs associated or not associated with the packages offered.
